This is when the festivals take to the streets, the parks fill with music and food, and Copenhagen shows its most festive side.

Copenhagen Photo Festival

The festival is Scandinavia's leading festival for contemporary photography. The festival presents a wide range of exhibitions and events, ranging from documentary and art photography to experimental visual expressions.

The festival center is located on Refshaleøen, where visitors can experience a range of exhibitions and talks in unique surroundings. In addition, the festival spreads across Copenhagen with more than 55 exhibitions in galleries, museums, and public spaces, providing an opportunity to experience photographic art in the city's many facets.

This year's festival opens with a special exhibition by renowned British photographer Martin Parr at venues including the Royal Theater and Kgs. Nytorv, as well as five locations along the inner harbor. The festival program also includes partner exhibitions and events throughout the city, offering an in-depth insight into the role of photography in contemporary art.

3 Days of Design

If you are interested in furniture design, architecture, crafts, and aesthetics, 3 Days of Design is an absolute highlight in Copenhagen in June. The festival is Denmark's largest design event and has developed into an internationally recognized platform for contemporary design in just a few years, with exhibitors from both Denmark and abroad.

The festival runs for three days and spreads across the city with exhibitions, talks, installations, open showrooms, and creative pop-ups in everything from historic mansions and backyards to galleries, design studios, and harbor areas.

CopenHell

Are you into heavy riffs, energetic mosh pits, and hanging out with thousands of other rock and metal fans? Then Copenhell should definitely be on your list of events in Copenhagen in June.

Copenhell takes place on Refshaleøen and is Denmark's largest and most prominent metal festival. Every year, the festival attracts both international top names and exciting upcoming bands within metal, punk, and hard rock. But Copenhell is more than just music. It is a complete experience where you will encounter everything from flames and giant installations to heavy metal karaoke, Viking battles, beer tents, and a very special atmosphere that can best be described as intense but always heartfelt. Copenhagen Sprint

If you want to combine sports and sightseeing, Copenhagen Sprint is a unique and exciting event you should experience in June.

Copenhagen will once again be the center of international cycling when some of the world's most talented male and female riders gather for this spectacular cycling race – an action-packed World Tour event that starts in Roskilde and ends with an intense final race through the streets of the capital.

But Copenhagen Sprint is about much more than just elite cycling. The whole city will be buzzing with life, with lots of activities and experiences for both cycling fans and families. Among other things, you can take part in a public bike race, explore the free bike festival, and experience events in collaboration with local actors.

Midsummer on the water

Around Copenhagen Harbor, you will find a number of Midsummer bonfires on the water, where you can enjoy the beautiful view from the quay or from the water. There are always many opportunities to experience the beautiful bonfires around the city, but these three on the water are very special: Kayak Bar, Ofelia Plads, and Seaside Toldboden.
