GoBoat Pod - Covered self drive boat

GoBoat Pod is your own private space in the middle of Copenhagen Harbor. Behind the panoramic windows, you sit sheltered from wind and rain with blankets, cushions and cozy lighting. Pack something good to eat, pour a warm drink and watch the city glide by. You take the helm and choose your route through the main harbor channel.

Start at Islands Brygge, where the team gives you instructions before departure. Unzip the side of the Pod to board, then close it before setting off. You steer the boat yourself, with no boating license or previous experience needed. The quiet electric motor lets conversation flow as you cruise.

Pod operates from October to April, with trips lasting 1–3 hours. There is room for eight people in total, including children and babies. Dogs are welcome too.

By day, watch life along the waterfront and see the Opera House, Amalienborg and the harbor’s buildings through the panoramic windows. There is time for lunch, a chat or a game along the way.

After dark, the city lights reflect on the water. Inside the Pod, you sit together under cozy lighting as Copenhagen passes by outside. Go on a date, celebrate a birthday or spend a Friday evening on the water.

From Islands Brygge, head into the main harbor channel toward Sydhavnen or north past the Opera House and Amalienborg. Along the way, you can see sights such as Langebro, Blox, the Black Diamond, Kyssebroen, Nyhavn, Papirøen, the Royal Danish Playhouse and Ofelia Plads. Frederiksholms Canal and Christianshavn Canal are off limits because their bridges are too low for the covered boat.

A printed map is provided on board, and a digital map is available too. Blankets, cushions, life jackets for everyone and cozy lighting are included. Cruise at a gentle pace of about three knots, or 5–7 km/h, and return to the same place you departed from.

Bring your own food and drinks, or buy drinks, snacks and wine in the shop before departure. Open-faced sandwiches and sandwiches are offered in partnership with TS Smørrebrød. In November and December, Danish æbleskiver and mulled wine can be added through Winter Island. You can also add GoBoat Challenge, a friendly competition involving quizzes, humming and mime.
